Manometry In
the gastroenterological area , Krainer offers now a novel product
from Sierra Scientific Instruments, Los Angeles USA. For the first time
physicians have a system with High
Resolution Manometry for the
esophagus. It will be measured at 36 levels with 12 sensors each. The
investigator will get more
significant extensive datas than until now. The new presentation of the measured
datas offers more clearness and therefore a faster analysis. Patients advantage
is a reduction of examination time
of more than 60 %.The new equipment is already used in some Austrian hospitals
for.example: Salzburg, Hall, Zams, Bludenz, Linz. In the next future there will
be a System for the anorectal area, with a three-dimensional display of the
sphincter. Optical
Biopsy Another equipment, at the moment in Austria and Germany exclusive marketed from Krainer, is an Optical Biopsy-System from Spectra Science Inc., San Diego, USA, named WavSTAT. With the help of laser-induced fluorescence-spectroscopy in the oesophagus or colon , will be decided between normal or malign tissue. Via a special catheter a pulsed laser interacts with the tissue-wall, will be reflected and in the machine analyzed. Without taking a sample , the reliability to have a normal tissue is 100%.If otherwise a malign tissue is shown, a biopsy sample can be taken for tests in the lab. This method offers in total, lower stress for the patient, more information for the diagnostic accuracy, is timesaving and therefore making the examination more economically. The system is used with good results in some European countries, for.ex. in GB, France, Czechia and Germany. Enteroscopy For examination in the small testine, Krainer -Medtechnik offers the MiroCam Capsule Endoscopy from Intromedic. Krainer
